Recap: International Presidents Meeting 2018, Bucharest, Romania

The global AIESEC leadership met for the annual presidents gathering last February in the Romanian capital, Bucharest. As the cooperation between the AIESEC Youth and Alumni has been very successful, the Alumni leadership joined the meeting as well. The board of AIESEC Alumni Europe, AAI-VP Marco Villa, and PAAI Alex Tichy packed their suitcases and headed to Romania.

Among the goals of the event, there was the midterm evaluation, check-up on different cooperations with AI and an update on the status of IC and AAIC 2018 which are to be held together in Hurghada Egypt.

It was great to see updates on AIESEC Youth activities: among them the launch of the 70th Anniversary campaign, where the first six honorable Alumni were presented through the 70 peacebuilder campaign and the launch of a new “PoP” platform specifically designed for corporate partners.

It was an honor to be present as well as proof of the excellent working relationship between AI and AAI.  During the celebrations, AI presented an Award to AAI in recognition of the support and achievement

We are delighted with the various joint initiatives and how we are becoming one global family, not only in words but also in action.

A draft agenda for AAIC was designed and sent to AI organizers to help create synergies during AAIC in Egypt. This was one of the feedback we received after our AAIC2017 survey. A new memorandum of understanding was created between AI and AAI on enlarging the scope of cooperation between the two most significant stakeholders of AIESEC.

Having experienced this IPM, we are looking forward to the next steps in facilitating another phenomenal AAIC.
