As you know, we are currently working to recruit qualified leaders who are interested in joining AAI’s Executive Board, through elections to be held in Porto, Portugal in April. We’re making good progress in those efforts and have identified several individuals who have expressed interest in standing for elections, but we are now at a critical juncture and want to ensure that all potential candidates follow through on their interest and complete the nomination process.
For those of you who are still considering this, we strongly encourage you to stand for nomination and join us in continuing forward with The AAI Transformation Project. The strengthening of our leadership team is critical to accelerating the growth of the organization, and achieving our vision of an active global network, where hundreds of thousands of alumni connect, collaborate and contribute to a better world.
We have spoken to some individuals who cannot attend AAIC Porto, but who are committed to attending other international meetings if elected to the new EB. In keeping with our agreed goal of broadening the participation of alumni in AAI’s leadership and voting, the Executive Board has decided to relax the requirement that candidates be physically present in Porto in order to be considered. We of course encourage all candidates to attend the AAIC, and believe their presence will be a strong consideration for attending members when they decide how to vote.
Remember, nominations close this Saturday, January 24th!
