Professional Career I had an over 29 year career at UBS where my responsibilities and title grew through 2008, culminating as MD in 2008. From 2008 – 2014 I was the Chief Investment Officer for a large Family Office/Independent Asset Manager in Geneva.
AIESEC Experience I was President of AIESEC Seattle, recognised as Most Improved LC in 1984. I went on to be VP Marketing for NC 1983-1984 and was elected US NCP and served 1984-1985.
Alumni Experience I live in Switzerland since 1985 and I must admit that I was extremely busy with my career and family. I spoke at an AIESEC Meeting in Poland (not sure what year) representing UBS. My daughter did a traineeship in India in 2013.
What is your vision for AAI? The overall goal must be “reconnecting” the objectives, vision, global interconnectivity and impact of AIESEC on the business and socially responsible aspects of the world we live in.
What skills and perspective would you bring to the Executive Board? I received my MBA in Finance from UCLA in 1989 and
a DAS (Diploma in Advanced Studies) in Not-for-profit Management from the HEC (Haute Ecole de Commerce) at the University of Geneva in November of 2015. I also have my extensive professional experience at UBS which focussed mainly on the management of direct and virtual cross cultural and cross functional teams to provide investment advice to UBS’ wealthiest client base.
What, specifically, would you most like to work on as an EB member? The impact of the organisation within the NGO, not-for- profit sector in order to impact the lives of those in other countries that may not have access to water, healthcare, education, financial support, and entrepreneurial initiative.
Are you willing and committed to undertake responsibility for developing, implementing and overseeing specific tasks at AAI? Yes
Will you be able to attend two in-person meetings per year and participate in monthly calls? Yes
Please provide (optional) links to your social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Xing. LinkedIn

I have known Andrew since 1982. We served on the AIESEC US National Cmte together, then he was MCP in year prior to me. We have remained in contact since.

I believe that the AAI Board needs professionally savvy individuals, capable of confronting the current development challenges of the organization. Given the dynamics of an international board, members need to have a very good sense for the right balance between debate and action; need to be solution-oriented and respectful of other’s time; personally disciplined and dedicated to delivering the objectives. Against that criteria list, I believe that Andrew is an outstanding candidate. He is a real leader in vision and strategy, while enjoying working with others in a team. He also has personal humility and a terrific sense of humor.

Andrew has led an AIESEC life, as an American that has established a family and professional life in Switzerland. Through his university-age children, he understands youth needs and opportunities. Through his executive experience — sometimes in business development — in large international corporations, he understands the approach and tenacity required to build and maintain business relationships. Coming out of financial services, and being naturally thrifty, he is sharp with numbers. He has a real interest in many cultures and languages. He has the wisdom and maturity that come from diverse personal and professional experiences.

AIESEC and Alumni experience

I have known Andrew since 2008 when he was Chief Investment Officer at a family office in Geneva. In the organisation, he built from the ground up an investment process, due diligence for contreparties and hedgefund investments and, unfortunately for me, also a very tough and financially keen customer.
